Hope you all are enjoying these last few weeks of summer. We have been on a little break ourselves since the Cox Classic and are looking forward to our first appearance at Kennedy’s Irish Pub on 72nd & Q this Saturday, August 28th from 9:30pm-1:30am. We will be playing at Whiskey Roadhouse in the Horseshoe Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Sunday, May 2nd from 7-9pm. Please come out and join us if you can. This is actually an ‘audition’ night there  for us and if we do well we will be asked back to play a Thursday night and if that goes well we will be asked back on a weekend night. Woo hoo! We will be judged not only on our performance and energy level but also by the crowd we draw in so spread the word and please, please come out!! I know it’s a Sunday night but the good thing is it’s only until 9pm.    Thanks everyone!

In the meantime…we will be playing at The Boulevard on 152nd and Maple this Saturday, April 24th from 9pm-1am. Come  on out and celebrate our V-I-C-T-O-R-Y with us!!

Just a reminder that tomorrow, Friday, April 2nd we will be competing in the Battle of the Bands at The Tropics (www.tropicsomaha.com)  The competition starts at 7pm. There will be 5 bands competing, we are scheduled to go up 4th. If you can’t join us at The Tropics  you can still vote for us by going to www.thereader.com and clicking on the ‘vote for what band plays the 19th hole at the Cox Classic’ box. It will be located on the right side of the page. Once you click on it, you can submit your vote for Velvet Crush. All votes are very much appreciated. We hope to see you all tomorrow night!

Big news! We, along with 9 other bands,  have been chosen to compete in the Battle of the Bands competition put on by The Omaha Reader for a chance to play the 19th Hole at the Cox Classic! We hope you all had a joyous and safe holiday season. We had the pleasure of playing Creighton University’s end of semester Christmas Party on December 18th at Castle Barrett’s and we had a blast!  Be sure to check out the website on the Crusher Cam page to see pics of the fabulously fun crowd and night!

We are also pleased to announce our first public gig of 2010 at The Boulevard 15244 West Maple Rd. Omaha…Saturday January, 16th…yes finally a Saturday night! We will start around 8:30-9:00pm so mark your calendars… can’t wait to see you all there! We have a whole new set of songs as well as our two newest additions Allyson and Shawn, they are both awesome.  I’m sure you will love them as much as we do! Once again a big thanks to you all for your support, we can’t do this without YOU!

After a few bumps in the road we are happy to say that we are back to a full line up again! We would like to welcome our new lead guitarist, Shawn to the VC family. Shawn is an amazing guitarist and a fantastic vocalist as well. He will bring even more fun to our live shows. You can expect to see us a lot more playing out and about the Omaha and outlying areas.
